He wanted to tell him how much he loved him, but his bowels demanded to be emptied - right then. Instead of reciprocating, Logan lurched from the couch and slammed the bathroom door as he fought his pants open and down his thighs. He was barely seated on the toilet before the auditory ejection filled the bathroom. Logan’s groans contrasted with the silence beyond the door. Through the space came four timid words that contained all his boyfriend’s uncertainty. "Logan, are you okay?” “This is not the way I wanted to tell you,” followed by flatulence, “but I love you too.”

 The girl shouldn't have been sacked, but if he said anything, then he'd be out. Not fired, but out of the good ol' boys' doorway that he'd just gotten his toe through. And the girl would still be out of the job. It wouldn't help her to speak up, and it would just make it worse for him. He scanned the faces of the employees. Many looked unhappy, but no one was taking a stand. Maybe he could send an email to management because this wasn't right. Or something more formal. A letter might be better.
